About Me

The Divinesign Astrology application is the final team project at the Rutgers Coding Bootcamp.
When the user signs up they enter their astrological sign which and can then get their horoscope for the day. This functionality is delivered use the aztro API - aztro.herokuapp.com
Additional functionality is the ability to match two people based on their astrological data - date, time and place of birth. This functionality is delivered by the vedicrishiastro API - note: this is an expensive API which we were able to secure a free temporary key. When this key expires this functionality will stop working.

The React WebScrape Mongo is the final personal project at the Rutgers Coding Bootcamp.
This application scrapes the Spin Magazine web site using Cheerio, displays the headlines, and let's the user save a headline.
The saved headlines are stored in a Mongo database using Mongoose. A button let's the user display the saved headlines, and delete a saved headline.
This front end is implemented using React and react-router

The Friend Finder is a personal project at the Rutgers Coding Bootcamp.
This application lets the user enter answers to eight questions then mathematically compares this to the similar profile for existing "users" and displays the best match.
The front-end is built on Bootstrap with simple jquery routing.

The Beer Finder is the second group project at the Rutgers Coding Bootcamp.
This application lets the user enter a beer and receive suggestions for a similar beer. Additionally the user can save a new beer to the database.

The Burger application is a personal project at the Rutgers Coding Bootcamp.
This application lets the user enter a burger, devour the burger and delete previously devoured burgers. This app is built on a Handlebars and Bootstrap front end, and an SQL database using sequelize.
The front-end is built on Bootstrap with simple jquery routing.

The Networked Rock Paper Scissors game is a personal project built at the Rutgers Coding Bootcamp.
This is a two player game which can be played by each player on a separate computer or two instances of a browser on a single machine. To play you simply log in and start guessing. The first player to log in will get to go first and subsequent rounds will start with the player that went second in the previous round.
The front-end is built on Bootstrap and uses a Firebase database for communication between the players. The server is a very simple express server built only for Heroku deployment. The original project had no server component.

The Psychological Job Search application is a group project built at the Rutgers Coding Bootcamp.
This application provides the user with a psychological analysis and recommends jobs that are suitable to that person. These jobs are then searched for using a job search API and presents a list of open jobs in the area.
The front-end is built on Materialize. The psychological analysis is done through the Traitify API, and the job search is done through the Glassdoor API. Location information is done through the Google Maps API. The server is a very simple Express server built only for Heroku deployment. The original project had no server component.

The Trivia Game application is a personal project built at the Rutgers Coding Bootcamp.
This application provides the user with a series of trivia questions with a 10 second timer for each question. After each question a 3 second timer delays the next question. After 5 questions the user is asked if they would like to play again.
The front-end is built on Bootstrap. The timers are built using standard javascript setInterval, screen writing is JQuery. The server is a very simple Express server built only for Heroku deployment. The original project had no server component.

The Gify Fun application is a personal project built at the Rutgers Coding Bootcamp.
This application provides the user with a list of default gify subjects, the user can click on a subject, the application will retrieve and display the first 10 gifys on that subject. The user can then click on the gifys to start and stop gify animation. Optionally the user can add new subjects.
The front-end is built on Bootstrap. The gify API access uses ajax. The server is a very simple Express server built only for Heroku deployment. The original project had no server component.
